Also, congratulations to VSMU for being such a brilliant host. Surely, it will be hard for any other host to imitate their accomplishment.

Volgo Games 2009 Updates no.2

Today, 48 students, went for the Chest X-ray at the Military Hospital, a very good turn out I should say. The MSA would like to thank these students for their excellent display of responsibility, even though the notice came on the eleventh hour. We hope that tomorrow, the remaining 46 students will follow suit.

Once at the Military Hospital, students should go to room 53 (near the conference hall / students' cloakroom) to register and get their referral slips for the X-ray. After obtaining these slips, they should proceed to room 8, also on the first floor, to queue for the x-ray procedure.

According to Mikhail Mikhalovich, on Friday, a team of medical professionals consisting of therapists, surgeons, a neurologist, and a couple more other doctors, will be deployed. He mentioned that everyone will have to undergo an ECG and a routine blood test.

The check-ups will begin at 8am on Friday, the 17th of April at the Russian Department in the 3rd hostel. I would like to stress that, all athletes and supporters should NOT go to class on Friday unless they have completed their check-ups at the 3rd Hostel.
(Added at 1.50pm, 15th April by Galen Sha)

Dear fellow students,
- All students going to Volgo Games 2009 (both players and supporters) are required
to undergo a compulsory medical check-up which consists of:

1. A Chest X-Ray
- At the X-ray Cabinet of the MILITARY HOSPITAL (ГУВД), on Wendesday, the 15th or Thursday, the 16th April 2009.
- From 9am to 1pm.
- Students who have performed their medical examinations (to attend classes) earlier should still bring their results (their medical books) to the hospital, but need not undergo another X-ray procedure.
- Please check your schedule on the list at your nearest notice board.

2. A Medical Check-up
- At the RUSSIAN DEPARTMENT in the 3rd Hostel on Friday, the 17th of April 2009.
- Beginning from 8am onwards,
- On Friday, ALL players and supporters should NOT go to class to attend this medical check-up.

- These are orders by the Dean’s office to make sure that everyone is healthy before going to Volgograd.
- Students who have classes during the whole process are exempted from classes by the Dean’s Office.
- All medical check-ups will be FREE OF CHARGE. Mikhail Mikalovich stated that those who do not complete the medical check-up cannot go to Volgograd. (Edited @ 8.38pm 14/04)

Additional:
All players and supporters should pay 1400 rubles for the transport charges to their captains. This money will be collected over the weekend (18th and 19th April). MSA would appreciate full cooperation from all players and supporters to pay on time to their respective captains. (The 2000 rubles collected earlier is for participation fee-which has been transferred to the Volgo Games 2009 Committee).

Dear fellow students,

The Deans Office have not yet officially approved the postponement of the ruling on the elective posting.

We have given them the letter from the MMC and they are still discussing about it among themselves.

Please do not go to the practical department to get your permission letters to do your elective posting outside of Russia yet.

The MSA will inform you when you can start doing so as soon as we get any confirmation from them.

Cancellation of the MSA Spring Carnival 2009

To all students,

The proposed MSA Spring Carnival 2009 will be cancelled.

Regrettably, our wishful thinking of raising funds for
the students participating in the Volgogames 2009
through this carnival cannot be realized due to the Dean’s
office that has rejected our request for permission to
organize the carnival and lack of participation from the
students (the MSA only received 3 valid applications).

We are very sorry to have caused any unnecessary inconvenience.

Postponement of MMC ruling on EP

Dear fellow students,

The MMC has approved the appeal of the MSA for the
postponing of the ruling on the elective posting.

All Malaysian students can undergo their elective
postings back in Malaysia only for this year, 2009.
(As stated in their letter to our Rector, Prof. Boris
E. Shakov, dated 8th April 2009).
