Changes in Practicals!!!

Dear students,

I believe most of you have heard of the changes in summer practical after the meeting with Natalia Genadevna yesterday evening. The information listed below is FINAL.

1. You are allowed to do practical in Malaysia.

- It’s good that some of you might have your own ways of applying for hospital attachment in Malaysia.

- BUT for those who need a supporting letter from our university for application in Malaysia, you can come to me (room 606, hostel 5) to fill in a form by Sunday night 19/6/11. The forms are for Natalia Genadevna to help students to acquire their supporting letters. Those who had already filled in during the meeting and those who are to come to me by Sunday night, letters are estimated to be ready to be collected at the practical centre at Aleksevskaya Street by FRIDAY 25/6/11. You can send a representative to collect for others.

- If you miss this chance, don’t worry. You can go to our practical centre located in Aleksevskaya Street and look for Nina Nikolayevna. She will give you the form and help you with the letter.

- Is this letter important? Actually, this is a formal 1^st step to apply for hospital attachment back in Malaysia. BUT as I mentioned earlier, if students have their OWN WAY to get permission to do their practical in Malaysia hospital w/o this letter, you may go ahead, as long as YOU GET TO DO YOUR PRACTICAL IN MALAYSIA especially for those who haven’t fulfil their “quota” in Russia!

Quota for each year:

2^nd - 4 weeks of NURSING

3^rd – 2 weeks of SURGERY, 2 weeks of INTERNAL MEDICINE

4^th – same as 3^rd + 2 weeks of OBSTETRICS & GYNEACOLOGY

5^th – have few variants (described in the following)

NB! Those who wants to do your practical in Malaysia, please do inform your batch representative ASAP so that your name can be excluded in the timetable for summer practical in Russia!

2. What Natalia Genadevna (aka Britney) needs from us, requirements, for practical examination?

IN MALAYSIA	IN RUSSIA
(i) Official Letter from hospital in Malaysia stating that you are allowed to do your practical for eg. 4weeks ( duration you are supposed to fulfil) (ii) Diaries with pictures (if practical is not done in Russia) (iii) Complete characteristic form (with cop and signature from department-in-charge) and preferably with comment from doctor	(i) Diaries (ii) Complete characteristic form (with cop and signature from department-in-charge)

NB! Those who use their own way to do practical in Malaysia, please make sure that you are able to get an official letter from hospital in Malaysia!

NB! From my experience, application for hospital attachment in Malaysia usually takes approximately 2 months unless you have your OWN WAYs.

- So, dear students (especially those who haven’t fulfil their quota in Russia and juniors who don’t have any experience applying), please make sure that you are able to settle this and do your practical in Malaysia smoothly. If not, better do it in Russia before going back home. Please DO NOT take unnecessary risks!

- For those who are applying doing EXTRA and purely for personal interest, it won’t be a big problem in case you can’t get to do your practical in Malaysia, PROVIDED you have already met ALL the requirements that Natalia Genadevna wants from you!

NB! Teacher had already mentioned that there were cases, where students were already EXPELLED, just because they did not complete the practicals.

FOR THOSE WHO DECIDED TO DO THEIR PRACTICAL IN RUSSIA

Please check your own current status at Winter and Summer Practicals section. Please update respective batch reps if there are any mistakes that needs to be corrected!

5^th year

1^st of all, polyclinic practice in Malaysia is encouraged, but NOT in Russia.

If do in Russia, previously 2 Weeks of Ambulance + 2 weeks of polyclinic

NOW new rule – only AMBULANCE 4 weeks!

Check which category u fall in!

1^st category: finished both ambulance + polyclinic in Russia

2^nd category: finished ambulance in Russia

3^rd category: half way doing ambulance in Russia

4^th category: started nothing

What to do?

1^st category: Teacher is doubtful that you actually managed to finish POLYCLINIC, BUT as long as you have proper documents (diaries, hospital cops, characteristic form), you are considered done with practical. So, you may either ignore and take the risk(maybe asked about polyclinic practice in Russia during examination) OR do extra in Russia (ambulance) or in Malaysia (EITHER ambulance 2 weeks OR polyclinic 2 weeks)

2^nd category: continue in Russia (ambulance) OR in Malaysia (EITHER ambulance 2 weeks OR polyclinic 2 weeks)

3^rd category: same as in 2^nd category

4^th category: can do all in Russia (4 weeks ambulance) OR in Malaysia (ambulance + polyclinic OR ambulance, as long as the duration is 4 weeks)
